Recommend ascent route of Mount Rinjani National Park

There are many routes to climb Rinjani National Park but the most recommended trails are Senaru route and Sembalun route. You can choose on between of that two routes if you want to explore all the spots on Mount Rinjani National Park.

To reach all those spots you should choose minimum 3 days trek which you can starting from Sembalun village or Senaru village. For a trekker who has a limited time, but would like to reach the top of Mount Rinjani they can start the hike from Sembalun for 2 days 1 night. But to folow the program you need very good level of fitness or advance trekker.

For beginner trekker we recommended 3 days or 4 days trekking which is started from Senaru village or Sembalun village.

The difference is only on the starting, if we start climbing from Sembalun, from post 1 to post 3 you will find and see a very wide expanse of grass which is very beautiful to look at.

When we start the climbing from Senaru, from Pos 1 to Pos 3 is a shadow trail, we  will walk under giant trees with wild animal sounds. From both crater Rim will show spectacular views of Segara Anak Lake, sunset and sunrise.

The places that are the main access if you want to climb Mount Rinjani are Senaru village and Sembalun village. Various accommodations can be found here.

How to get Rinjani if you come by flight:

Regular flights are from Denpasar Bali, Jakarta, and Surabaya and from Singapore to Lombok International Airport.

From Lombok international airport the trip will continue by car to Senaru village about 3 hours and 3 hours 40 minutes to Sembalun village.

By Slow Ferry.

If you would visit Rinjani by slow ferry, the main port in Bali you should visit is Padang Bai Harbor to reach Lombok Harbor ( Lembar Harbor). It will take 4-6 hours to sail from Bali to Lombok harbor. For a low budget, this is an alternative option to getting Lombok Island.

The ferry service departs every hour and operates for 24 hours. Continue the trip by car to Senaru village approximately 2 hours 30 minutes and 3 hours 20 minutes to Sembalun village.

By Fast Boat.

Coming by fast boat is the best option if you would like to travel to Senaru or Sembalun village. There are lots of fast boats running every day from Padang Bali Harbor to Lombok Island ( Bangsal Harbor or Senggigi Harbour)

It takes 2 hours from Padang Bai Bali to reach Bangsal harbor Lombok. Continue your trip to Senaru for 2 hours drive and 2 hours 30 minutes to Sembalun.

By plane from Bali
Lombok International Airport is name of the Lombok Airport located in central of Lombok island. If you flight from Bali its take 30 minutes to reach Lombok island. That make fly to Lombok by plane is easiest and fastest way to get Lombok. There are daily direct flights from Bali and Jakarta to Lombok island with reasonable price ticket.

From Lombok airport its take another 1 hour by car to main town of Mataram or Senggigi.

By slow Ferry from Bali
If you take slow ferry you need go to Padang Bai harbor in Bali and you will arrive at Lembar harbor between 4-5 hours travel.

After Lembar harbor its take another one hour to get Mataram town or Senggigi.
