There are three famous trekking routes to Mount Rinjani. Start from Senaru, Sembalun, and Torean.

1. Senaru trekking route.

The ascent will start from Senaru village at an altitude of 600m. The Senaru route passes through the rainforest, and the journey will start at an altitude of 600m and reach an altitude of 2,641m.

There are four resting places called POS. We will find them from the starting point to Crater Rim Senaru. From Senaru village to Senaru Crater Rim has 3 main POS and 1 POS extra.

2. Sembalun Trekking Route.

The ascent will start from Sembalun village with an altitude of 1100m. This route will give you wide views. The trail is hot but fantastic.

The route will take about 7-8 hours with a distance of about 10 km. Starting from the entrance of Sembalun to the crater rim of Sembalun will take about 7-8 hours with a distance of about 10 km.

On the second day, there is the struggle to reach the summit with an altitude of 3,726 meters above sea level, starting from 3 am to get the sunrise above the summit,

Sembalun trekking route has four resting places, from the entrance to crater Rim Sembalun.

Torean trekking route is a new one that Rinjani National Park has legalized. The trail will start from Torean village 585 m, located on the western side of Mount Rinjani.

The trail will take you through dense forests and past a beautiful waterfall (Penimbungan waterfall)—a view famously called the Jurassic Park viewpoint.

First, come to Lombok Island. How to get to Lombok Island?

There are three options to get to Lombok Island from Bali.

1. Take a flight. Fly from Ngurah Rai Bali to Lombok island, daily flight available. From Lombok airport, you can grab a taxi to Senaru village or Sembalun village.
2. Slow Ferry. Available every two hours from Padang Bai Bali to Lembar harbor. Will takes between 4-6 hours sail. From Lembar Harbor take a car to Senaru or Sembalun village. We recommend booking the transportation in advance to avoid brokers at the harbor.
3. Fast boat. The fast boat operated daily from Padang Bay Bali to Bangsal Harbor and Senggigi. The fast boat runs twice a day, in the morning schedule and afternoon. Book in advance is a safe option.

Senaru Trekking Route the shadow hiking trail

Senaru trekking route offers a shadow hiking trail from Post 2 at an altitude of 1,500 m to Post 3 at an altitude of 2,000 above sea level. We will pass through a very dense tropical forest.  From the entrance gate to Crater Rim Senaru takes 6 hours walk with a distance about 9km.

Along the way, you will find several resting places called POS.

The Sembalun trekking route offers a grass savanna with gentle winds. Along the way, climbers will enjoy the view of the vast savanna meadow, which will reduce fatigue. The starting altitude is 1100 above sea level. The trail is amazing. The first half or more of the trek is literally a breeze.

Starting from the entrance gate of Sembalun to crater Rim Sembalun will take about 7-8 hours, with a 10 km distance.

There are two primary ways to get Lombok Island: by air and by sea. You can choose to defend on your budget, time, and where you are traveling from.

Lombok is famous for its white sand beaches, epic surfing spots, and stunning landscape.

Getting to Lombok by Air.

Flying is the fastest and most convenient option.

• Lombok International Airport is the name of the Lombok Airport located in the center of Lombok Island. The island has only one airport.
• Flight from Bali ( DPS ). There are multiple daily direct flights from Bali to Lombok. The flight is short, typically lasting only 30-40 minutes.
• International flight. Most International flights from Malaysia and Singapore.
• Getting to your destination from the airport. Once you arrive, you can take a taxi.

Getting to Lombok by Sea.

Traveling by sea is a more budget-friendly option and offers a different kind of experience.

• Fast boat. This is a popular choice for tourists from Bali. Fast boats depart from various harbors in Bali ( Padang Bai, Serangan, and Sanur ) and arrive at different ports in Lombok ( Senggigi and Bangsal ).
• Public Ferry. This is the cheapest and slowest option, often used by locals and for transporting vehicles.
