Senaru Panorama Walk is a leisurely walking tour (soft trekking) lasting around 5–6 hours that explores the natural beauty and culture at the foot of Mount Rinjani, North Lombok. This programme is very popular with tourists who want to enjoy the scenery without having to climb to the top of the mountain.

  1. Iconic Waterfalls: Visit Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep, two of Lombok’s most famous waterfalls. Tiu Kelep is approximately 42 metres high and surrounded by lush rainforest.
  2. Rice Terraces & Plantations: Walk along green rice terraces with Mount Rinjani in the background. You can also see farmers working in the coffee and cocoa plantations.
  3. Traditional Sasak Village: Visit Senaru Hamlet to see traditional Sasak houses and learn about local customs directly from the locals.
    Wildlife: Opportunity to see long-tailed macaques and, occasionally, rare ebony leaf monkeys along the forest trail.

Detailed itinerary – Senaru Panorama Walk Tour

  • 08:00 – 08:30: Pick-up from your hotel in the Senaru area or nearby, followed by breakfast at the hotel.
  • 08:30 – 09:30: Start the journey from Senaru Village or the Bangket Bayan rice terrace area. A local guide will give a brief briefing and begin a leisurely hike along winding rice fields and irrigation channels.
  • 09:30 – 10:30: Continue the journey through tropical gardens (coffee, cocoa, vanilla) and lush bamboo forests, with the guide explaining the local flora.
  • 10:30 – 11:00: Arrive at Sendang Gile Waterfall. You can take a short break, enjoy the atmosphere, or bathe in this two-tiered waterfall.
  • 11:00 – 11:45: Continue the journey through dense rainforest towards the second waterfall, Tiu Kelep, which is about a 35-40 minute walk across a natural river.
  • 11:45 – 12:30: Enjoy the beauty of Tiu Kelep (a 42-metre-high waterfall), swim, and take photos.
  • 12:30 – 13:00: Return to Senaru Village via the same route.
  • 13:00 – End: Lunch and programme conclusion, followed by return transfer to your hotel.

What to bring ( Clothing & Footwear )

  • Walking/Hiking Shoes: Wear running shoes or hiking boots with a good grip, as the trails can be slippery, especially near waterfalls.
  • Lightweight & Quick-Drying Clothing: Wear sweat-wicking T-shirts. Avoid denim as it will become very heavy when wet or sweaty.
  • Spare Clothes: Bring at least one spare set of T-shirts to change into if your clothes get wet from sweat or waterfall spray.
  • Swimwear & Small Towel: Highly recommended if you plan to swim in the natural pools of Tiu Kelep Waterfall.
  • Raincoat/Poncho: To prepare for sudden rain in the tropical forest area.
